The Rs.30 crore Container Freight Station (CFS) of the Falcon group commissioned in the Group’s Integrated Logistics Services Facility at Kalamassery, Kerala (India) in the year 2007 is the State’s first full fledged CFS in private sector.
The facility has the most advanced amenities for stuffing and de-stuffing of containers, bonded warehousing, in house customs clearance and banking, computerised operations and a host of other most modern facilities and services.
The facility was formally inaugurated by the State Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan on November 16, 2007 marking the Group’s ambitious take off into the country’s emerging logistics and supply chain services horizon.
The setting up of the CFS also assumes significance in the context of the nearby Cochin Port having poised to emerge as one of the leading international maritime hubs especially in view of the Vallarpadom International Container Transshipment Terminal, which will transform the Cochin Port to one of the leading international maritime hubs.
With the plethora of massive developmental projects including International Container Transshipment Terminal, LNG Terminal, and Port Based Special Economic Zone fast coming up in the port area the location of Falcon CFS assumes tremendous importance.
